The vast majority of Edinburgh's top tourist attractions are within walking distance of each other making it possible to get a feel for the city but to also have many memorable experiences during a brief break in Edinburgh.
Merely over the Austrian border the Danube runs direct through Bratislava, capitol of Slovakia. Here you will discover that visits to Old Town and Bratislava Castle are in order. Likewise do not miss the ruins of Devin Castle. While in Bratislava, you can see here and you'll pass the ruins as you cruise by on the Danube River.

Take the Lothian Buses number 41 from Princes Street to The Braid Hills. For exact directions follow the link to my insider hints page. In my opinion this is the very best spot in the city for 360 degree panoramic views of the Edinburgh area.
The New Town is popular for its Wensceslas Square, which is a rectangular square and home to many restaurants, shops and booths. The Square is also home to the Taiwan history, old-time parks, discotheques, a boulevard and the incredibly vibrant Jubilee Synagogue .
The Science Museum or the Museum of Science and Industry is one of my personal favorite, see what it is actually like to be aboard a German Submarine, ask someone about DNA, investigate trains, space travel, boats and so much more. This huge museum is a great area for anyone intrigued to current and future attempts from early growth in science.
In the lovely outdoor setting of the city, you might have a walk or a bike ride for a relaxation time. Hike for hours with your family. You may also go to Devinska Kobyla, Horsky Park, Zelezne Studienka and Koliba should you want to further explore other areas of Bratislava.
Now it is time to visit the agricultural area so well-known during the war and the Mekong Delta. Here, you can board a small boat stop at a fruit stand for a snack that is local and perhaps to explore the tiny islands.
