I'm fluent in two languages-English and music. This may seem like a strange admission but considering that I'm a traveling writer, the very fact that I can convey entirely in merely my native tongue and another language without any words is not saying much.



But think for a minute about the life of a deaf person. As a child, they may attend a public school with the aid of a sign language interpreter. Elementary school is about socialization. This really is where we learn to communicate with our things, share our ideas and our peers. This is where we start to learn who we are in this big world. Now imagine that a sign language translator is relaying info from the teacher, but nobody can speak with you. You most likely can't participate in the school choir or other activities demanding the capability to hear.
