Fred and I were having a drink the other night. We were in one of these inexpensive places with the little red lanterns outside, signifying the beverages being alcoholic, affordable food and beverage. When a drunk homed in on us we were calmly solving the issues of the world. Westerners dwelling in Japan can be like magnets for drunks. Having lost all self control and crimson in the face, Jiro Hamasaki welcomed us like long lost brothers, Christian brothers, as he combined Japanese and English, repeating the same fundamental points over and over: He loved America, was a Christian, and adored us. I didn't have the heart to tell him I was not religious and Fred did not say anything. Not speaking to drunks was one of the mantras of Fred.
Some (most) misunderstand Christianity thinking it's caused wars in the past (the Middle Ages). For Catholicism is a religion different from Christianity that full report will not rely on the Bible for its existence it's just not true. The Bible alone will never make one a Catholic, will never provide you with a Pope, will never let you pray to or worship the Virgin Mary, etc., etc., etc. They will easily acknowledge that the New Testament alone is insufficient and it's the teaching of their church that has the primacy. Christianity is available in the pages of the New Testament, not outside it.

In Indian culture, classic wedding dresses were frequently the Sari, which went over the shoulder. The shade was most often red with the fabric being woven silk. In China, complex headpieces were word with one or two bit silk gown.
So now, as a nation we should share with each other again. Those of us with more, need to give to those who have less. It's in the action of giving that you feel your connection to others.
