30am and I'm waiting with my car and driver outside my building. Her sister and no Khun Ying, no Neung. Oh well, it's Thailand so I suppose I just have to wait. I get an sms and it appears the taxi they called so they're going to be really late, could not find their area. Mai pen rai.
30am and the monks arrive. What's going on here? No one in Thailand is ever early. We are going to get back to this shortly, but it turns out to be about food. The monks arrived, all nine of them, in the rear of a pickup truck. Dressed in their orange robes it is a somewhat surreal scene. The most unexpected pick-up delivery I have ever seen! We currently have nine monks seated on the ground of your home, with about 25 guests seated all over the area. The rituals begin with an offering of water to the monks. The candles are lit, the 免洗劑洗衣 string is unwound, all of US settle down and the chanting begins.
Every morning you may see the Thais making offerings of flowers, food, incense and water to the spirits at their little house. That keeps them away from the primary building where the individuals live.
The National Museum is an excellent place to Thailand culture and history. 宴會廳領班 Wat Arun is a great temple also called the Temple of the Dawn. This temple attracts visitors as it's wonderfully decorated. Chinatown is a busy area which has many tiny shops and restaurants where you could take pleasure in the Chinese food. It's an intriguing area that appeals every visitor here.
As far as skills go, I need to say I think the focus these days has to be on technology, multilingualism, problem-solving and critical thinking skills. Our kids are going to be made to face challenges that we cannot envision at this point. They need to have the capacity to believe for themselves. I also think we're going to get to face challenges using a humanitarian and international perspective, so the skills will soon be useless minus the character traits I mentioned first.
Don't touch, climb on or otherwise degrade a Buddha image or an image of the King (or in fact any member of the royal family). Buddhism is the leading religion in Thailand and Buddha images are handled with attention and great respect. Any disrespect revealed to any member of the royal family will probably get you in big trouble and likely with a jail term (although these are usually commuted by the King, but result in your immediate deportation and barring from seeing Thailand again).
It's Not All About Cash - I used to read on-line forums frequented by mostly western guys who live in Thailand and have Thai girlfriends or wives. A high percent whine about the Thai girl they are with, 外籍新娘仲介 saying much of their relationship is based on money. Basically meaning they believe the Thai girl would not be with them if they did not have more money than your typical Thai man. Are they correct? Yes, to some extent they're. But not for the reasons they mean.
Dating Thai men, for me, has been a mostly positive experience. I believe they're sweeter, kinder and more polite than nearly every western guy I've dated and I'm definitely taken care of more. Just make sure you learn about Thai culture and don't act in a way that makes your Thai boyfriend 'lose face'. He will be around for much longer after that because, if that happens, it'll be quite unlikely.
