Some (most) misunderstand Christianity believing it's caused wars in the past (the Middle Ages). For Catholicism is a religion separate from Christianity that does not rely on the Bible for its existence it is simply not accurate. The Bible alone will never make one a Catholic, will never provide you with a Pope, will never let you pray to or worship the Virgin Mary, etc., etc., etc. They will readily acknowledge it is the teaching of their church that has the primacy and that the New Testament alone is not sufficient. Christianity is found in the pages of the New Testament, not outside it.
