There are dozens upon dozens of books that take an in depth look at culture and Thai history. I am not going to try and emulate them here. What I'm going to do is tell you what you must understand to make a comfortable transition. This is part 3 of a multi-part show.



I'm not referring to the stuff you may learn in travel books like no kissing in public, but about what anticipations Thais have to foreigners and how they see interracial relationships.

Thai Culture is Drastically Different Than Western Culture - lots of western guys come to Thailand, hang out with other westerners, have few Thai buddies and make little effort to Thailand culture. A big percent, unfortunately, have the ingrained notion that western culture is much better than Thai culture and, even though they live here for years, spend much of it looking down on Thailand. As a result, when they start a serious relationship and meet with a Thai 馬爾地夫 woman, they have already decided they're going to do things the 'western manner', as it's better. In fact, it is not and your Thai girlfriend will most likely not believe so.



Foreign guy and foreign wife (Moo-wan). Generally a foreign couple will contact the foreign salesperson at a big design firm in Bangkok who will assure a turn-key operation at the location of their choice (and at an extremely exorbitant price).

I will let you in on a little secret. You can comfortably meet actual Thai ladies online. It is simple, cheap and you'll be able to meet with many Thai ladies. Now when you touchdown in the Land of Smiles, you already know girls here and dating them is as simple as picking up the telephone and calling them!

99% of Thai girls aren't hookers and they're not for sale. Propositioning a woman you have never met on the street isn't just rude, it may get you in serious trouble if she's with husband, father or a boyfriend. Don't misunderstand cad Thais and Thai die cast culture. Thai girls are of a prostitute than any American woman you'd see on the street.

One of the fascinating places is the Damnoen Saduak Floating Market, located eighty kilometers away from the city center. Have a closer encounter of the life in a Thai village. This initiating floating market is made up of rows of hundreds of wooden boats. Each of the boats carries fresh farm produce, including fruits, vegetables and blossoms. You may also eat fresh sea food that is cooked right on the boats. It's like being in a living museum.

Assurance is extremely attractive to Thai bar girls. Behave assertive and trendy, but not cocky. Show them that you respect and adore them. This is really something that they rarely get from Thai men, which is why they esteem Western men so highly. Like all women, they would like to be respected. After you have acquired their affection, they'll be delighted to give you the time of your wildest fantasies.
