There is a much easier, cheaper and environmentally friendly way to produce natural gas from water without poisoning our water supply with very toxic fracking chemicals. Plus, Natural Gas Heating Albany gas burns cleaner than other fossil fuels and most of what is used in America is produced here, so you can feel good about that too. All equipment rebate applications are subject to validation for an energy efficiency rating using Air Conditioning, Heating & Refrigeration Institute (AHRI) Certificates. To see a list of current ENERGY STAR certified gas water heaters, click here Under the "Fuel" preference on the left-hand side of the page, make sure to select "Natural Gas". Contact a Natural Gas Connection Program participating contractor to get a price for the installation of interior gas piping and the required high-efficiency gas equipment.

In the last decade, New York has had the country's biggest increase in the number of households using natural gas as a heating fuel source, according to data released by the U.S. Census Bureau. Between 2005 and 2014, the number of New York natural gas customers went from 3.7 to 4.2 million, according to a POLITICO New York analysis of the numbers. Heating prices are expected to be 30 percent cheaper in Buffalo this season, the lowest in two decades , because of an influx of natural gas.

Used for both heating and cooling, an air-source heat pump condenses warm air and moves it either indoors or outdoors. In warm weather, it condenses and extracts heat from inside, cooling a home, and in cool weather, it condenses and extracts heat from outdoor air, heating a home. According to the Department of Energy, the heating efficiency of an air-source heat pump is determined by its heating season performance factor, or HSPF. It's a measure of the total space heating required during the heating season, expressed in BTUs, divided by the total electrical energy consumed during the same season, expressed in watt-hours.

A 1998 IPAA survey reports that 36.2% of capital is generated through internal sources followed by banks 27.8 % and outside investors (oil & gas partners) at 20.3 %. In its recent report to Congress entitled Developing a Renewable Biofuel Option for the Home Heating Sector, NORA concluded that Bioheat fuel blends using ultra low sulfur heating oil (ULSHO) can match or exceed the performance of natural gas in terms of reducing GHG emissions. NORA's study states that the greenhouse gas emissions from Bioheat are equivalent to the emissions from natural gas at one of three levels, depending on the measurement criteria that are applied.

Landfill gas cannot be distributed through utility natural gas pipelines unless it is cleaned up to less than 3 per cent CO2, and a few parts per million H. Clarification needed Siloxanes in the gas will form deposits in gas burners and need to be removed prior to entry into any gas distribution or transmission system. Citation needed Using materials that would otherwise generate no income, or even cost money to get rid of, improves the profitability and energy balance of biogas production.

New York is 17th nationally for the percentage of residents who use natural gas to heat their homes. Andrew Cuomo banned the production of natural gas through fracking late last year, after taking years to make a decision. The state faces a number of key decisions on proposed pipelines that would increase natural gas capacity throughout New York as well as New England.
