archer c7 v2There has been a gentle interest in TP-LINK's initial try at an AC1750 category router, the Archer C7, that we have a tendency to reviewed a few year past. i think one reason is its sub-$100 value, which i feel is that the lowest of any AC1750 router. the opposite reason could be the C7's position at the highest of the AC1750 Router Ranker.
TP-LINK has since made a small design change to come up with the Archer C7 V2. the corporate confirmed the sole amendment is a newer version of Qualcomm-Atheros' five GHz 3x3 AC radio, the QCA9880-BR4A vs. QCA9880-AR1A utilized in the first Archer C7. The marking on the original C7 5 gigacycle radio board shown below left is tough to make out. but it's pretty clear on the V2's board on the correct.

Everything else is the same, folks, each physically and feature-wise. See the first review if you wish feature details.

Routing Performance
Routing performance for the C7 V2 loaded with 3.13.34 Build 131217 Rel 60903n microcode and using our standard test methodology yes, the V2's results are to a small degree completely different. No, the differences don't seem to be vital. The V2 still supports essentially gigabit wire-speed routing in both directions.
The IxChariot composite plot for unidirectional up and downlink tests sounds like both directions created occasional jumps on top of 900 Mbps. Sustained average outturn of above 800 Mbps, however, is over most folks can ever approach needing.

The C7 V2's synchronal up/downlink throughput once more set a replacement Router Charts high of 1435 Mbps! Even higher, it's like the routing code tries to stay output in balance in both directions even once running flat out.
